Arkansas River, Salida, CO

This is the Arkansas River that flows through Salida and is next to the park where the show is located. Christo intends to cover several miles of it with an incredibly long piece of fabric for one of his art pieces. Not sure if many blippers know of his work but he's done some fabulous pieces of conceptual art and is worth a Google. I followed his "Running Fence" for 2 days in Calif. in 1976...photographing it on its headlong rush into the sea.
