Old Lady

This is a moth called an "Old Lady" (Mormo maura), although don't know why. They are quite big - with a wingspan of about 7 cm, and are fairly common in the UK, but local. My son found this one last night in the kitchen at about 3am (... don't ask!) and it was waiting for me in the fridge this morning, in a chinese take-away box.
