I love to go a-wandering
in the woods by our house. Haven't been back in the bush for awhile and felt like being among the trees, the ferns, the salal and all the other growth. The air is so fresh and clean here. I took a few shots on my walk then spotted this bark in the willow tree in our field, and it interested me more than any other shot. I can see all kinds of things in this - a ferris wheel, a snake head coming at me, a sea horse, an artist standing at an easel, a person sitting at a computer blipping ;-)... and many other things. But then, I have a vivid imagination.
The holes in the bark were made by a sap sucker.
The weather's changing and that's a good thing. The province has been in a heat wave and there are a lot of forest fires. Hopefully we'll get enough rain to bring all or most of them under control. Thankfully none of them are here. It's always a worry in the summer that a lightning strike or some silly person will start one.
