Sea Potato

I have discovered how the ocarina was invented.

As I carried this complete test (or shell) of the sea potato (Echinocardium caudatum) the wind blew through it, making a distinct musical note.

These are not uncommon but it is less usual to find an undamaged test, among the clams, spoots, cockles and the odd stranded jellyfish left behind as the tide recedes.
