Coriander (Coriandrum sativum)
I mentioned awhile ago planting a herb garden in some of our Belfast sinks. It is amazing how they have grown, the alpines in the other sinks now almost fill them as well.
Not having grown herbs before we haven't been cropping them as hard as we probably will as we get used to having fresh herbs on hand. I am now into drying the excess for use over winter. Cutting the herbs in the early morning is advised as that is when they are most aromatic.
The Coriander has shot up and is flowering so I thought I would take a few shots. Corinader is native to Southern Europe and North Africa. All parts of the plant are edible but the leaves and seeds are most commonly used. Strangely not everybody tastes coriander in the same way, some get an unpleasant soapy taste and bad smell.
