Crisp walk and fungii

I'm sure my mushrooming friends will find many mushrooms today. I love these things which grow on the trees at this time of year ... to look at rather than eat! It's been cold and very wet, but the sun is out today. We went up at day break, which is not really that early at the moment and had a wonderful walk. We found a "new" path which took us through an ancient cork oak forest, planted by Simon van der Stel, over 200 years ago. Those trees have born witness to so much in their long lives. I wish I could have sat and listened to their stories.
