Low flying crystal

Some nice retail therapy today, at the shopping mausoleum that is Bluewater in North Kent. Spent the afternoon with daughter and daughter-in-law, and the three of us had a great time being ladies who lunch, and shop, and laugh a lot.

This caught my eye on the upper floor of the shopping centre at a fashion store called Hollister. On the outside this chandelier is set at a peculiar height, just skimming a coffee table that bizarrely sits in the entrance. I suppose the shop merchandisers thought it would be a an eye-catching lure to tempt people into the interior. But once inside, the lighting is so dark that you can barely see the clothes. All a bit odd, really.

As we left Bluewater, the heavens opened in a torrential downpour, with accompanying thunder and lightning. By the time we were home, there were reports of flash floods in the area. Good old English summertime!
