Mikron Theatre

We saw The Mikron Theatre perform last year for the first time and returned again last night to see a brilliant performance of one of the 2 shows they are performing this summer, called The Troopers.

Mikron are a highly professional travelling theatre company in their 43rd year, and this time of year, travel on a barge along the river Thames, and set up their theatre at the side of the river. One night only. Last night they stopped at Sonning Lock. If you get the chance to see them GO. With just 4 actors, they perform a musical play and often play more than one character each. Apart from acting, they all sing beautiful and play at least one instrument. You cannot book. You just turn up with your folding chair and a picnic and give a contribution at the end of the show. Last night was a beautiful summers evening, just right for the their performance.
