Scorchio!

What a day to have to do some digging! Phew. Way too hot for me. We are planting for a client over the next couple of days, and today spent the morning preparing the soil that the hard landscaping contractor is already meant to have prepared for us.

MY standard of soil preparation as a horticulturist is quite different to other peoples opinion of soil preparation. Several years ago I studied part time for the Royal Horticulture Society certificate in general horticulture and for 2 years all we ever talked about was SOIL!! There is no point putting a plant in the ground if the soil is not suitably prepared to give its roots a chance to grow.

Such a lovely evening, that we had a BBQ before I dashed out to a film club committee meeting.
