View off Rowner Road

After taking mum to the Surgery for a short appointment, we returned afterwards via Okehurst Lane and Rowner Road in order to get a picture.

The view in this shot is looking from Rowner Road eastwards back to Billingshurst which lies beyond the hill in the distance. These vast fields were originally much smaller and on the right is all that survives of Newbridge Wood. This was a small wood that until 1933 was partly in the parish of Pulborough. Boundary changes that took place in that year moved a large chunk of Pulborough parish into that of Billingshurst. It's likely that the wheat in these fields will be combined very soon.
