Slumbering Cows

After another insufferably hot day, I went for a walk down Harsfold Lane at Wisborough Green. These cows have the run of the water meadows that are alongside the River Kird and its confluence with the River Arun. There is no footpath in these fields which is just as well as there is a bull in them!

So there they were lying down looking flaked out in the heat swishing their tails, so I thought this would make a good picture to sum up a day that's been wearying and wearing!
