Eagle Owl, Dunrobin Castle
(Major back-blip)
We visited the beautiful Dunrobin Castle today. In particular the falconry displays were the best we've seen and the kids were mesmerised. They were also both perturbed and excited by the low flying antics of the birds, with our little boy using his Mum as a human shield while our not-so-little-girl crounched down on the ground. Photographically it was a real challenge getting in-focus shots. The owls were some of the more slower moving birds so were the 'easiest' to take but the falcons were just well nigh impossible to photograph in action. Only afterwards did I realise I should have tried trap-focussing.
Also, a big thank you to the falconry expert, Andy Hughes, for being so entertaining.
