ode to a ladle

It may sound odd, but I've really wanted a good ladle for the longest time. It's not something I've obsessively searched for - more like a passing thought that comes to mind when serving soup or similar dishes at dinner. Up until now we've made do with an old plastic serving spoon, probably dating back to our earliest years of marriage.

Yesterday I spotted this metal ladle and matching porcelain stand at Muji in downtown San Jose (love this store!). Knew I had to buy it. Now I can't wait until the next time I serve soup!
