Wasteland

We took the riverside walk into town today and passed by the sandy beach complete with colourful deck chairs, pretty parasols, ice cream vendors and boating lake. All had been brought to Soissons for the summer. We watched the swans flying down river and the canoes paddling their way up river. We stopped on the English footbridge to take photographs of a beautiful houseboat moored on the quay before going to the restaurant to book a table for 3 for Saturday evening. Yes, three! Our granddaughter will be making her first (since she was a baby) trip by 'plane and arriving in Paris tomorrow to spend the last week of our holiday with us! Incredible that the last week is almost here.
The wild flowers were planted on a patch of "waste ground" at the end of a car park. This is not an uncommon sight in France and we thought it looked so bright and colourful on an otherwise warm (27 degrees) but very overcast day. Hope you are all enjoying our sunshine, but can you send some back as we might need some from tomorrow.
