The Joy of a Soapy Shower!
I didn't do more than just doze off last night. It was a hot, airless night but the sticking plasters attached to me with that heart monitor seemed to pull so uncomfortably. I tried lying on my back rather than my usual right side but didn't care for that either so I rolled back onto my side. The rest of the night was pretty much a repeat performance. I went into a nice doze at one stage but then my fan on rotate got stuck in one direction and woke with a machine gun impression ack-ack-acking until I turned it off.
I was like a zombie trudging downstairs later.
I hardly took any pictures today. It was a busy day during which I soon shook off my earlier tiredness and it was a useful day. Tesco Man came at 10:30am and there were no daft incidents today which was good!
I was logged off and stood at the bus stop by 3:10 waiting for my bus back to the hospital. Not been able to shower on a hot sticky day was dire and I'd made my eyes water (and probably most of the passengers on the bus) with my combination of deodorant and Dior Addict. Oh well... Needs must.
I was seen pretty quickly despite the fact there was a bit of a queue. A nurse came out and asked who was there to have their monitors removed and I shot out of my chair and into the room before anyone else had time to blink! She confirmed that the battery hadn't run out or any of the other dreadful mishaps I feared might make me have to repeat the tedious 24 hours. I was back on the bus ten minutes later resisting the call of the canal. I wanted my shower!
Oh what a shower it was! Luxuriating in soap suds under the cool water stream was truly wonderful! I won't go on about it although it was definitely the most pleasant part of the day. I know just how those contestants feel on 'I'm A Celebrity Get Me Out Of Here' feel now. Being deprived of a proper shower for just 24 hours was torture enough for me!
The picture is of Eric at 5:30am still asleep.
