Small Skipper on Lavender

The first time I've seen this particular butterfly in our garden. It was quite happy on the Lavender so I managed several close-ups with my Panasonic Point and Shoot.

For the record: eight small tortoiseshell butterflies and on Comma yesterday. I chased the Comma around and got several images but none of them were really satisfactory.

Another scorcher of a day so I'm waiting for it to cool slightly before going out into the garden.

Tai Chi this morning followed by a visit to our neighbours M & L to have a look at the garden they are developing on their newly acquired plot of land.

p.s. not much bigger than a 1p coin.
