Happy Birthday Kevin!!!

The big 5-0. Amsterdam style!

It is so nice that Jordan and Sandy were here to celebrate Kevin's birthday. It was actually a rather quiet day, with an age defying workout at the gym, a walk through the Vondelpark, and a quiet dinner at home. The birthday dinner request was for fresh salmon and I was happy to oblige by preparing the meal. The salmon in Europe comes from Norway and it is melt-in-your-mouth delicious.

Chocolate cake and ice cream for dessert finished off the meal. I couldn't find candles at the grocery store, so Kevin had to blow out the candles that we had on hand. Each of the four candles represents 10 years. Fifty is the new forty!

Later in the summer, we are planning a little larger celebration with a much bigger cake fitting for a LOT of candles. Also there will be a very special 50th-birthday-worthy K-style birthday song.
