It won't be long before the combine harvesters are busy.
D and I went for a walk without the dogs for once. Actually they didn't deserve it following the garden incident. We had to separate three from Pushkin with the broken deckchair and a chair. Lucky was the ringleader this time, no damage, just frayed nerves.
Another dog somehow played a small part in a near catastrophe a few days ago. A was using the tractor with an industrial lawn mower to reduce the mustard to mush, allowing the grass to grow. Somehow, by avoiding young Ciesek who was running around, he managed to mow a piece of metal sticking out of the soil through the rear window of the cab. The mower was adjusted to touch the soil but turning sharply causes things to tilt. There is no window. No other damage, just frayed nerves. New windows aren't expensive compared with heads.
Something similar happened to me a few years ago when the plough dropped off and a line snapped and flew through the same window. I remember wondering if I was still alive or I'd been shot. Just shocked, but it just illustrates how useful the windows really are.
I spent the day with texts. It's safer but makes you fat.
