Cherry tree respite

This afternoon I went to a talk by author Robin Pilcher, son of Rosamund, which was held at our local library. I've never read any of his books, but his talk was lively, amusing and interesting and the time passed very quickly! Afterwards I popped into the pet shop for bird food, and was very glad of the shade of the cherry tree on my way back to the car! The old buildings seemed to be just soaking up the heat!

Thank you to everyone who wished Russet well yesterday! She did not have to have an operation after all, just a new bandage and more pills, and a return visit is booked for Saturday! She cannot go for walks, so is not very impressed! However, it can't be too bad just lazing around in the shade all day!
