Cornwall day 2; postcard from St Ives

The gallery is not officially open yet but people come in to see what’s going on as we finish setting up tables and displaying the wares. A couple of pieces are sold by lunch time.

It all kicks off this evening with a wine and nibbles opening.

I’ve heard about the ‘gull’ problem in St Ives - and have now got to witness it first hand. Our friend Richard was leaning against a railing eating a piece of pizza and a herring gull swooped down and took it from him.

Last year Richard had witnessed this very thing happening to others and so made some ceramic gulls heads with Cornish Pasties in their beaks to display in the gallery. I assume the gulls were not impressed.

Gulls will not be invited to the gallery opening.

I'm going to be slow to respond to comments and other peoples' journals for a while. As slow as the internet connection is this hotel.
