Upcycle

Kaylee had mentioned that she wanted a Maxi Skirt like mine... but it's very difficult to find one that will fit her. Long enough to be a maxi skirt, slender enough to not fall off her hips.

A quick search online, and I was prepared to upcycle one from a womans skirt or long shirt. We grabbed a couple of clearance items today at KMart to turn into wearable skirts.

This one, was a womans XL skirt and we were able to make this maxi, and a shorter knee length skirt out of this one item. Another skirt was made from an XL peasant top in navy blue/white damask. We also upcycled a few of her own wardrobe items... a summer dress into another maxi skirt, and a too-short dress into a knee length skirt.

I think she's happy with her upcycled items and I can't wait to make a few things for myself soon... let the Goodwill search begin!!
