Grasshopper
C and Lillian caught this one in the kitchen this morning and when Lillian brought me my morning tea she brought it with her in a little container.
I took a few shots on the rim of the container and then it jumped away and flew to my bed and then it flew to my bedroom window and sat on the wooden blinds, and that is exactly where I had a ball, clicking away, with him posing in all sorts of poses, with the houses of the neighbours in the background!
I think this one is best! It was quite difficult to decide!! I wanted to show as much of him as possible, he is só beautiful! Note the lines on the eyes!! Amazing!!
We had a very serious rainstorm this afternoon! R snr used the small Kawasaki to go back to school at 16:00 to do some athletics coaching, because there was no sign of a storm anywhere!
Just before 17:00 all hell broke loose in the form of a thunderstorm and C rushed to school in her car to 'rescue' him, but he did not want to leave the bike there, so he rode back in that fierce storm, following her in the car, but no one could see the streets!! It was terrible! But, thank God, they got home safe and sound and dripping wet!!
We wen for a walk after the storm, all four of us with the doggies, to see what things look like down at the back gate of the estate, close to the dam wall!
Close to the gate we made a horrible discovery!!! My favourite huge old tree, which I blipped often and I blipped lots of birds in that specific tree, was blown over by the storm wind, it lies right across the street!! There are só many birds nests in there!! My heart aches tonight!! I tried to capture it to show you, but I had the big lens with me and could not get a proper shot of it, I will try to blip it tomorrow!
