I have nothing but serious respect for these guys. It was probably 26° out there and they're wearing velvet jackets and not only hauling ropes but running and jumping off the platform underneath the Grandmother Giant. They were clearly knackered from the off and they still had some way to go. The BBC website is saying that there were 100,000 people on the streets of Liverpool to see the Giants. I have no way of knowing for sure, but from where I was, that seems like a massive under-estimate. There were many, many, more people than the numbers that turned out 2 years ago for the last visit of the Giants. A long, but very, very, satisfying day. And there's more to come.
