What insanity was this? I said yesterday that I reckoned the BBC report of 100,000 was way off the mark. I was probably right because the Echo later reported about 300,000 people in town on Friday. Today felt like double that number, which is probably an over estimate, but, for sure, I have never seen so many people in Liverpool. This event has really hit the spot; has demonstrated that Liverpool does big events well and that people will respond to them. Chapeau to that.
