The Haar

Nothing has moved for days offshore from Aberdeen or Shetland - and here's why. There's a massive bank of cloud sitting out over the North Sea making safe Ops impossible. In the evening when everything cools down, it starts to make its way on shore in a rather menacing manner - just like the film The Fog of the 70s, but without the creepy killer pirate chaps.

Minutes after I took this pic, the cranes disappeared and shortly after that the whole airport disappeared.

The joys of the east coast summer.
