An urban walk today, in fierce heat, from the Etihad Campus along the Ashton Canal past the mills of Ancoats and then through the centre of Manchester.

There was a graduation ceremony at the Bridgewater Hall. This family seemed nervous.

The walk concluded at Salford Quays, where cooling drinks were required before taking the Metrolink replacement bus back to the City Centre.

The coolest place today, as shown in this blip, was the John Rylands Library. An oasis.
