Storm clouds gathering in the Cairngorms
Here is a backblip from Saturday's hillwalk in the Cairngorms. The target for the day was Braeriach, Scotland's third highest munro at 1296 metres.
It was a long day and our feet certainly knew they had covered over 17 miles by the time we got back to the car! The day started warm and quite sunny and remained warm but became overcast, so not just the best for photos. Having said that, there was something rather beautiful about the views in spite of the haze.
The blip shows the view over to Cairn Toul and Angel's Peak from the summit ridge of Braeriach.
We got well soaked on the way down when the weather broke late afternoon and the midges were AWFUL in the LairigGhru!
