Danish Diaspora

Willow weaving along the railing of the Danish Cultural Institute in Edinburgh; created as part of a community weaving day led by weaver Lise Bech. I thought this such a fantastic idea. The bendy willow contrasts boldly with the solid iron work. I especially like the willow replica of the gas street lamp at the far end of this photo.

Lise Bech's weaving features in an exhibition - Danish Diaspora - at the Institute which displays the work of a number of Danish artists who have made Scotland their home.
