Happy Eid x was the message in the sand today as Ramadan came to an end. Lovely to think that such a message is left here on the beach for all to see.
These flags bedecked a sea front villa, in celebration of the Glasgow 2014 Games, continuing just fifty miles due west from here. A further example of the inclusive and very special community we are all privileged to share here.
As further proof of my recovery I made a rendezvous with a former colleague in Edinburgh's Botanical Gardens. We worked together here in this city in the 1970's!
My day began watching the veteran Cruise Ship Delphin making her sedate passage up The Forth to dock at Rosyth.
The Victorian building in the background is Portobello Swimming Baths. A remarkable sporting venue still going strong and making Edinburgh's Meadowbank Stadium looks tired and dated despite proudly hosting The Commonwealth Games there twice in 1970 and 1986.
