An Artist's Life

Near Lolo

An emergency blip...EB my friend Glass Road calls them...driving down the Bitterroot from Missoula. I liked the different cloud shapes and got this off-the-shoulder shot to play with. Lolo residents are called Lolotians by the locals. It's a bedroom community south of Missoula. It's also the site of one of Lewis & Clark's major camps while they waited for guides to take them across the Nez Perce Trail. They stayed a while...repairing and making moccasins, making bullets and caching some supplies. Game was scarce and they had to eat their horses on the trail. When you hear someone say they are so hungry they could eat a horse...well, sometimes one has no choice.
