Too beautiful to eat...
After a perfect sunny morning walk along the river, filled with darting dragonflies and screaming terns, the clouds gradually built up and the weather turned hot and heavy. I struggled to achieve anything, feeling tired and slightly head-achy. A morning trip to town with Chris felt exhausting - he was recovering from his first ever migraine yesterday, so undoubtedly felt worse. I photographed the globe artichokes on a lunchtime wander round the garden - they are one of the few plants that are upstanding and dramatic. Most of the garden is now looking rather parched and sad. Perhaps the early evening rain may perk things up - it certainly made the garden smell delicious!
