Native Pigeon

Our resident Pigeon flew into its favourite Kowhai tree late this afternoon, plonked itself down on a branch, and started stripping the leaves for its tea.

The Native Pigeons are beautiful birds. The are very colourful, and tend to fly rather low due to their weight. You can hear them coming, just from the flapping of their wings.

The weekend is here. It's pouring outside - meant to be a very wet few days. Still no calves born. Maybe it will be tonight after all this heavy rain.
