Parting is such sweet sorrow...
That Shakespeare chap was right. Said farewell to my sister today. We've had a fantastic fortnight, filled with interesting things and lots of happy memories made. Still, we have to endure the stiff upper lip drive to the airport, followed by the not stiff upper lip at all goodbye at the departure gate. You feel very conspicuous when everyone else is full of cheer as they head off on their holidays, and you walk red-eyed and blubbing out of the airport. On my sister's side of the gate, everyone thinks she's scared of flying.
Came home and felt pretty glum, the place is very quiet without her. A little glimmer of cheeriness tho' when the mouse appeared for the first time in a long while. Put some sunflower hearts down and s/he was back out in a flash. I guess the smell of them must be the rodent equivalent of walking past a fish and chip shop. Glad she got some easy sustenance as I see from the photos that she has lost a bit of her tail.
