Happy Swiss National Day!

1st August was a day we had always wanted to spend in Switzerland but the last few years it had been too difficult to manage. This year we were determined to be here - and here I was!

Philip's niece and I spent the day in Geneva. There were a few photos I could have chosen, especially as we manoeuvred our first ever ever park and tram ride! However, this photo of the Jet d'Eau seemed most appropriate to epitomise Geneve!

We walked for miles along the banks of Lac Leman, enjoying the festivities and even went on a big wheel!

Tonight we were joined by some Cheltenham friends who have a flat in the Alps and enjoyed the after dark fireworks over Geneva. More fireworks are planned for tomorrow with an hour long display next Saturday to mark the end of the Fete de Geneve.
