Dignity intact?

I took stroll down by the canal this afternoon and met this swan. When we first met he (or she) was walking very gingerly along the ice, skating in places and clearly not enjoying the experience at all.

By the time he'd got to the edge of the open water there was quite a crowd taking an interest. A few moments of indecision, followed by a reigned flop onto his tummy, a quick shimmy along the ice and a rather undignified plop into the water. At which point he swam off in a rather snooty fashion. The crowd were highly amused!
