At last the rain has gone

The final day of athletics, and the rain poured down all day - at least until just before the mens 4x100m relay, featuring a certain Mr Bolt. Spectacular though the atmosphere appeared to be for his appearance at Hampden, the highlight for me was the 40yr old Jo Pavey winning bronze in the womens 5000m. What an inspiration, and what an exciting finish.

I watched the athletics from the comfort of the sofa. This is the only photo I took all day, a mile away from Hampden on the way back from picking up Mhairi from her 12 hour shift at the Hockey Centre. It was taken about 10 minutes after the rain stopped and 10 minutes before Bolt ran.
