Chimney Pots

I spotted these strange looking chimney pots a while ago and have tried to snap them (unsuccessfully) a couple of times before. I was intrigued by their unusual design - look like the bottom of little rockets ready to launch.

Apparently they are 'Peytons Patent" - possibly a number 62, so there! I presume the holes at the bottom are to assist the updraft!

They are on top of Bramham Lodge and are quite high up so you always get to look up at the sky. Usually I finish up with blown out sky. I needed a day with some greyish cloud and sunlight on the pots - and today conditions were favourable - I had to wait a while for the cloud / sun combination to arrive though!
