Sunflower

Here is one of the flowers on one of my sunflowers. It's pretty even if the leaves have been eaten by something.

This is probably a ridiculous question I should save for Google, but you know in salads and stuff you sometimes get sunflower seeds, do they come from the flower? So would I be able to collect the seeds to eat? And I suppose sunflower oil and spread comes from the seeds?
