Munrano glass blowing

We caught a boat to the island of Munrano today which is famous for it's glass and we managed to stumble across a wonderful glass blowing demonstration. It had us all captivated as we were amazed at the speed and skill of the demonstrator. He made this vase in the above blip as well as a horse which the kids loved and he then blew glass to make it look like a huge bubble before smashing it on the ground just so that we could see that it really was glass. The kids didn't want to leave as they wanted to watch the demonstration again and again.

We had a wander through the alleys and looked in lots of shops as we bought several things including some tiny glass animals that the kids picked as a memento and even did a bit of Christmas shopping! After a lovely lunch (probably our nicest yet) we caught the boat back 'home' for a nap and then spent the evening doing some more exploring and playing hide and seek. We got caught in an almighty thunder and lightning storm and had to take shelter in shop doorways (and I'm embarrassed to say we even took refuge in McDonalds!).
The pavements quickly flooded and lots of people resorted to walking barefoot so we decided to make a mad dash for it and got soaked although it was worth it just to hear the kids giggling as they thought it was great!
