Spent a lovely half an hour in the nearby meadow this afternoon. The sun was very warm and all the insects appeared. The butterflies were flying too fast for me but hoverflies, flies and wasps were easier to photograph.

This was taken with my new camera and replacement lens, I am very pleased with it's sharpness considering it was handheld. I haven't learnt the art of insects like this with a tripod.

A day of catching up in the house and starting to think about what the children need before they go back to school next week.
