Lest we forget....

I've blipped a photograph of hubby's granda before but it seemed appropriate today as we remember the beginning of the so called Great War to feature him again. He was one of the lucky ones, who returned from the horror of the trenches to marry and raise a family, to till the Buchan soil and lead an ordinary life. Both my grandfathers also survived the conflict, and both carried the mental and physical scars with them for the rest of the days. But at least they survived. Countless millions of soldiers and civilians were not so lucky.
