Part II
After a very busy night, everything was ready for lifting this early morning. Non-essential personnel left the barge, both tugs were positioned, the Hermod was pre-ballasted and the crane wires were pre-tensioned. After both cranes took a load of more than 7000 short tons, the module started moving and came free from her seafastening cones. After sufficient clearance with the barge was obtained, the barge was unmoored and the Hermod moved in towards the waiting jacket. Because of a handicapped portside crane in the fixed mode, slewing was not possible so the Hermod had to put the module exactly on her spot by means of her anchorwires. Exactly 10:16 the jacket took over the load and the module was on its place. A lot of big smiles on the Hermod I guess.
