A Whole Row of Trees
24.0C with some thin cloud around at times. Mostly sunny. Light breeze.
Maeve the Deerhound and I went for our walk after lunch. We went down the field with the bridle path to the shore and down to the beach. Once on the beach we turned left and walked towards Easthaven. We usually turn round when we reach the burn which runs across the sand and out to sea, but the burn was fairly dry today and out on the sand it was easy to walk across. On a spur of the moment notion we continued on to Easthaven.
With the sand dry and deep it felt like a bit of a hike and I had to persuade Maeve to continue walking at times. Once we reached Easthaven we discovered quite a number of people enjoying the beach, and one or two paddling with a couple of dogs splashing about.
We walked up to the shore road by going under the railway bridge and stopped to have a look at the community garden which was put together with the assistance of the Beechgrove garden team earlier this year. It celebrates 800 years of there being a community at Easthaven
We continued our walk back along the cycle path which runs parallel to the beach and the shore road and goes along to Westhaven. About half way along I stopped to get this shot of a whole row of trees which grows at the side of the road that goes along past the church we pass most days on our walk and out to Scryne.
I had a look at my watch when we got home. Rather than our usual hour or hour and a half we had been out for an extra hour. Maeve required a large bowl of freshly drawn water. She looked quite tired.
