ewe eye
The sheep have been in the field for a while now and have been munching on the grass, dock, nettles and clover until it has almost gone so I expect they will be moved on to pastures new quite soon. I thought I had better take the opportunity to put one on blip and this one came particularly close and had nt really seen on until it looked up.
Most animals have round pupils but sheep, goats , octopus and toads have rectangular pupils. This helps the animal avoid predators making their peripheral vision more accuracy. Sheep can see behind themselves without turning their heads. The lack of wool on their face of most sheep also helps with their vision.
A saying which is nt used quite so much now a days is 'making sheep eyes' at someone meaning making it obvious that you like someone by looking admiringly at them.
A lovely sunny day with plenty of butterflies about including peacocks.
