Elephant Hawkmoth Caterpillar

This is what Ozzy found on our walk today!
Never seen anything like it before!!
Didn't fancy touching it!

It was awesome to see.

It had its little head hidden when we came across it and it was showing off its magnificent defences, a pair of fake eyes!
Next thing it's wee long head came out and it started scurrying across the path!

Quick Google when we got home to find out exactly what it was!
Wish we could see it after pupation!
