Changing sands

It always surprises me (although I don't know why) that when I haven't been to a particular beach for a while just how different it can be when I return. The seas move the sands around exposing or covering rocks. This was at Redhead beach this evening and there has formed a little moat around the shark tower rocks on which I am standing for this shot. There was a smoke haze to south. I think they are doing some hazard reduction burns. By this time the last of the surfers had left the water and I had the beach to myself. Bliss!
