At long last ......

...the new carpet is down.

When we moved into this house, over 10 yrs ago, we decided to leave the hall and stair carpet down, even although we hated it, until we had completed all the heavy dirty work. So now eventually, after a new boiler, double glazing, new kitchen, new bathroom, couple of new radiator, and the whole house redecorated, it is done!

After Stevie our painter finished his excellent work we just had to wait for this to arrive, and after a wee hiccup (the carpet shop forgot to order it?) it finally has. Mr D is instructing everyone take their shoes off before going up and downstairs, and not to touch the freshly painted walls. Ida, the smallest Bandit, says "I touch the walls Granny, but it will just be our wee secret, eh?"

As soon as she gets downstairs Mr Dyson, aka Pops, says sternly: "Ida - did you touch the walls"? and she giggles delightedly, and defiantly says "Yes I did"!
