My British Friend

What an awesome afternoon. My friend V finally took the plunge and became a British citizen. The enormity of this situation is not to be underestimated and it was royally celebrated by Newcastle City Council with a pen, a cup of tea, and a scone. I seriously cannot imagine what it would be like to give up being British, given that I am a half Scottish (guess my views on independence) and we further celebrated V's 'naturalisation (???) with a few beers and dinner at Broad Chare. It's definitely time for me to turn in for the night, but it was a total privilege to be a part of V and others from around the world become part of a truly global experience. I love this planet. J x
