Sedrack waiting for his Dad

There was a very different atmosphere on our last day at the building site as all the children in the disabled unit who board at the school had their little blue tin trunks packed and were waiting for their parents or carers to come and pick them up for the school holidays. Sedrack's Dad arrived on the back of a boda boda (motorbike taxi) in torn clothes and we could see what sort of challenges they must face, having a disabled child. I found out he owed money for Sedrack's board and lodging for last term (only £12 which is now paid!) and has to bring a bar of soap, and 10 kg beans along with 3 or 4 other required items when his son returns next term.
However, Sedrack looked happy to be sandwiched inbetween the boda driver and his dad, with crutches tied to the side and trunk perched on the back and there is clearly love in that family.
