The Brightest Moment .....

...... of my day was seeing so many of these large copper butterflies (lycaena dispar) on the lower part of the walk to Malatra Col. I have only seen them once before in Zinal at a similar altitude.

Today's walk was a bit of a gentle slog initially but the final slopes were steep and dramatic to a tiny col, more like a window really. If interested you can see views from the col on Flickr.
